Our Story:
Aging Revolutionaries
Jim calls us Aging Revolutionaries.
For decades, our children have asked us to write our stories, so here we go…
It has been a life-changing adventure to go through old journals and letters. How many blessings we’d forgotten! Too many stories for a book, so the blog will contain some mini-stories until the book appears. It is our goal to bring glory to God for his continuing goodness in our lives. Our children are in the picutres because they lived every minute of their growing-up years in a very different environment that most of their peers. They are troopers and we are so proud of them!
What you’ll find here.
We are celebrating 60 years of marriage. Those two people that married each other could not have even imagined the life we’ve lived.
Through these 60 years, we have served on three continents, lived in gated compounds and cocaine-rich communities. We’ve worked witih children, the elderly, and pretty much every age in-between. We’ve worked with people coming out of cults and those climbing the ladder of success only to find it leaning against the wrong wall. We’ve seen the reality that every heart is restless until it finds its peace in Christ. We’ve observed first-hand that God’s character stays the same across every nation.
We’ve seen wealth and smelled poverty. “We been blessed in the city and blessed in the country.” (Deut. 28:3) We look back on our life and would not change a thing or miss a lesson. God has been so good! Until there’s a book of rememberance, we thought we would write some “mini-stories” here with the hope they would encourage your walk with the Lord and inspire you to tell YOUR stories of God’s goodness.
Our children are in the pictures because they lived their growing years in the middle of the the adventure with us. Often their lives were quite different from many of their peers. They are troopers, and we are so proud of them. Maybe we’ll even get them to write some of the entries!
